Silambam Asia signed Brighton plus Helsinki Declaration on Women and Sport.

Management from World Silambam Association, its continental body Silambam Asia and National Organizations have attended the meeting to sign the Women and Sport declaration in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.
Simultaneously on 10 April 2021, Silambam India Association gathered State Committee members and National Committee members from more than seven (7) States for collaboration and development meetings. Several issues, solutions, and technical matters have discussed during both sessions (Tamil Nadu State meeting and India National meeting).
Discussion about Brighton Declaration for Women and Sport and also the appointment of the "Silambam Women Committee" took place during these meeting.
In 1994, the Brighton Declaration is an international treaty to support a fairer and inclusion of girls and women in the sport and physical activities which developed and established on Women and Sport by the International Working Group.
By signing this declaration, these organizations will put greater efforts to promote equality, engage, build more comprehensive cooperation, and will continue to support the IWG efforts on Women and Sport.

The mission of Silambam Asia as an umbrella organization of the World Silambam Association (WSA) is to provide effective international governance by constantly improving technical rules and regulating Silambam competitions or participation in international events or sporting arenas to be recognized as an Olympic and Paralympic sport in the near future.
